Financing & Budgeting

Straight talk about what a cabin costs

Most of our projects are financed with rural construction loans or land-plus-construction packages from local lenders. We'll walk you through:

  • Realistic all-in budgeting — logs, labor, site work, septic, well and utilities
  • What lenders want to see before they'll approve a rural build
  • Phasing options — shell now, finish later — to fit your budget
  • Package starting prices so you can plan before you commit

Common Questions

Frequently asked questions

How long does planning take before construction starts?

Typically 2–6 months from first call to breaking ground, depending on design complexity, permits and septic approval. Permits and septic are usually the longest lead items — we help you start those early.

What do I need to have in place on my land?

Legal access, a buildable site, and a plan for septic, well and power. If you're not sure what your parcel supports, that's exactly what our site review is for.

Do you handle septic and utilities?

We coordinate with trusted local septic installers, well drillers and electricians as part of the build plan, so you're not juggling contractors.

Who pulls the permits?

We prepare the drawings and documentation and guide the permit process with your county zoning office. County requirements vary widely across our service area — we know the local offices.

Can you build in winter?

Yes — log construction is well suited to winter builds, and winter scheduling is often easier. Foundations are the main seasonal constraint, which we plan around.

Custom design or standard plans?

Both. Our packages are proven starting points you can modify; custom builds start from a blank page. Most customers land somewhere in the middle.

How far will you travel?

Our standard service area is a 100-mile radius around Superior, WI. Projects just outside get reviewed case by case rather than automatically declined.

What happens after I submit an inquiry?

You'll get a confirmation right away. We review your project details, then reach out — usually within one business day — to schedule the initial consultation call.
